Wage: $19.00/hr
Hours: 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:30pm (approx. 40-44 hours per week)

Introduction:
The Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network (FABN) is a not-for-profi t organization that administers the Frontenac Arch UNESCO Biosphere designation. Our mission is to nurture healthy landscapes and vibrant communities by delivering programs, cultivating networks, and connecting people with nature.
Our Summer Nature Camp champions our mission by creating a supportive camp environment where campers follow their curiosities into the woods, wetlands and waterways of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere (FAB) Region.
Camp is for children aged 5-13 and is offered at four locations within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Region (see above for locations).
Summary of Position:
FAB Summer Nature Camp employs staff who have experience working with children and who are passionate about nature and conservation. The Environmental Educator is one of up to fi ve staff onsite at each camp location and is responsible for working with the Senior Environmental Educator and Camp Director, to implement the FAB Summer Camp Program.
The successful candidate(s) will deliver engaging outdoor, nature-based activities for campers at our FAB Summer Nature Camp. Our Environmental Educators are responsible for ensuring the camp is fun and engaging while conducting appropriate risk management and upholding the policies and procedures of the FAB Nature Camps and the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Participate in one week of training prior to the start of camp (paid)
● Demonstrate leadership and assist with meeting campers’ needs
● Facilitate and lead nature themed programming and activities
● Provide supervision for one camp group (up to ten campers)
● Provide a safe, fun experience for all campers - on land and on water
● Ensure that the site is clean, organized and litter free
● Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp
● Demonstrate a willingness to be in the water during each swim session, with your designated group of campers
● Ability and willingness to work at any or all four camp locations, if needed
● Complete the full length of the contract
Qualifications - Required:
● Must be 16 years of age or older
● Has, or is working towards, a high school diploma
● Interested in working with children and in nature
● Have an up-to-date Standard CPR-C and AED First Aid certifi cate
● Provide a clean Police Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Screen (valid within the last 6 months)
● Willingness to work rain or shine
● Personal means of transportation to and from camp each day
● Able to walk fi ve kilometers and lift 50 pounds
Qualifications - Assets:
● Currently enrolled in a College or University program
● An outdoor enthusiast, curious about nature and/or an interest in or skills in outdoor education and/or nature-based activities
● National Lifeguard Certifi cation NLS - priority will be given to applicants with this certifi cation
