3 Weeks of Job Skills
You kick things off with practical training that applies to almost any job:
- Digital skills
- Communication + teamwork
- Workplace basics
- WHMIS and Working at Heights certifications (super useful anywhere)
It’s basically a crash course in “how to be awesome at work.”
Hands‑On Experiences (Not Just Classrooms)
You’ll get to try real projects so you can see what kinds of work you actually enjoy.
Some of the activities involve construction‑type tasks—cutting, assembly, electrical basics, solar panels, that kind of thing—but the point isn’t to turn you into a tradesperson overnight. It’s about building confidence and figuring out what you like.
Think of it like test‑driving different skills.
10‑Week Placement to Try Out a Job
You’ll spend 10 weeks with an employer where you can:
- Try out a career direction
- Build your résumé
- Learn what you enjoy (and what you don’t)
Get real‑world work experience. Manufacturing and construction placements are available, but not required—you’ll work with the team to find something that fits you.
